|The 1998 AGM took place after lunch in the GNER
Directors' Saloon at the 13 September Bluebell Outing.
David Lawrence founder of the group and List Manager/Web Master for the last three years stepped down in both roles to encourage new ideas and facilities.
Nominations were received from two members, and it was decided to split the duties between them. Adam Bolton was agreed unanimously as List Manager. He is currently deputizing in this role and had offered to introduce a mail list system for the group. A short discussion was held on mail list options and Chris Dadson was asked to liaise with Adam to pass on these ideas.
Colin Duff was agreed unanimously as Web Master. The handover would not occur overnight and Martin Love agreed to assist Colin until he got up to speed on html coding.
The period of office of both positions was agreed at three years.
The office of SEmG Records Officer, Dave Searle, was not changed.
David Lawrence, with unanimous approval, was asked to be Honorary President, which he accepted with gratitude.
Some general discussion took place on modules and portfolios as possible future facilities the group might look into.
The meeting thanked Chris Gardner and Richard Salmon for their work in organizing a second fine Bluebell outing.
